 Good evening. New Jersey. I'm Jack O'Malley. That little snow teaser overnight? Just a memory. But step outside right now and you mightn't see much of anything. Dense fog is swallowing the state, with visibility dropping to a quarter mile in spots. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 10 P.M. If you're driving, take it slow — that mist is hiding everything from potholes to brake lights. In the next 24 hours. In Here's situation, rain is knocking on the door. North Jersey gets wet first, right around 7 P.M. Central Jersey follows as the evening goes on. South Jersey, you stay damp well into tomorrow morning. Most of us pick up a quarter to half an inch of rain. But here's the catch for the higher elevations. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Passaic County until 10 P.M. Freezing rain could glaze the roads before temperatures climb above freezing. It's a classic setup where a mile down the road is rain, but you're dealing with ice. Tonight, the thermometer holds pretty steady. Lows hover around 35 up north, 37 in Central Jersey. And 41 down south. Tomorrow shakes things up. Rain tapers off by morning. Clouds break for some afternoon sun. Highs climb to a pleasant 50 in North Jersey, 54 in Central Jersey. And 50 in South Jersey.
