You might even see some patchy fog roll in late tonight, making for a damp commute in the morning. Head north to the Capital Region and the picture gets trickier. Freezing rain mixes with sleet between 7 P.M. and 2 A.M. You could pick up to three inches of snow before it changes over, meaning roads turn slick fast once that precipitation starts. Western and Central New York see rain this evening, finally tapering off by 28 degrees or 11 P.M. Lows dip to around 30 to 33 degrees overnight, with some patchy fog developing. Wednesday brings clearing skies and highs in the mid to upper 40s. But don't get used to the dry weather—Thursday and Friday turn wet again, though we stay mild. Then comes the weekend plot twist. Saturday brings highs in the upper 50s to low 60s statewide. Sunday and Monday keep that mild air east of the lakes, hanging near 60 degrees.
