In the next 24 hours., A backdoor cold front is sneaking south from the northeast. It's wedging cooler air in behind it, creating a sharp temperature divide across the state. Think of it like a cold air dam building up against the mountains. Up in the Upstate, you're getting the full treatment. Clouds thicken early and stick around all day. High near 53 degrees with northeast winds gusting to 25 miles an hour. That's jacket weather, folks. Tonight drops to 43 degrees under those same clouds. Light rain could show up after 1 A.M. Tuesday stays mostly cloudy but warms to 61 degrees. The Midlands sit in the middle of this divide. Mostly cloudy today with a high near 59 degrees. Winds stay gentle around 8 miles an hour.
