Is The Devil a lawyer? The Devil's Advocate would have you believe so. The film tells the story of Kevin Lomax (Keanu Reeves - The Matrix, John Wick, Speed), a ruthless young Florida attorney who never lost a case, is recruited by the most powerful law firm in the world. But soon, his wife Mary Ann (Charlize Theron - Monster, Atomic Blonde, Mad Max: Fury Road) starts feeling homesick and seeing devilish apparitions. However, Kevin is sinking in his new cases and pays less and less attention to his wife. His boss and mentor, John Milton (Al Pacino - Scent of a Woman, Any Given Sunday, Paterno), seems to always know how to overcome every problem and that just freaks out Kevin.
British film director Paul Tanter (Shame The Devil, Stealing Chaplin, The Nights Before Christmas) joins the podcast to discuss this horror/fantasy film from 1997. Paul talks about why the film is often overlooked, how it was probably possible for The Devil's Advocate to film in real churches given the subject matter and why he believes Pacino is cinema's greatest Satan.
