We cannot suffer the pain of another, no matter how much we care for that person, even if that person is a younger version of ourselves in our history.

The Past is no longer our history. It is one's history for a person who has never been touched by trauma, but for us, our history now belongs to the past.

As a male, my history is now the 'his-story' of a 12 year old child.

If you are a male veteran, your history is now the property of a younger version of you who enlisted, 'his-story'.

If you are female, and you are standing today, then you are a survivor, and that younger aspect of you who suffered the trauma event, they are it's victim. it's her 'her-story'.

None of us can play the role of survivor today, and carry the mantle of victim of a past event as well.

We don't even get to choose

The past event, the role of victim, is not ours today.

It's none of our business.

This is the truth that sets each of us free!!

You have come through the fires of whatever hell your trauma was for you and today, you are a warrior survivor. You are still standing. What you survived, may have floored a lesser person, but you are still standing.

There is no way, you should even consider stepping back into the role of victim.

That is no longer your role.

When you bring that dead event into your present, you bring the death, decay and disease of that time into your life, and it destroys everyone and everything it touches.

You are your own worst enemy

No one is doing this to you, this is the greatest form of self sabotage
