In Chapter 2 of Harry Potter: Obliviate Book 1 Seven Years of Chaos, we follow an eight year old Harry who has learned to heal his own skin, repaint fences with a thought, and feel the pull of his magic like a living thing in his chest. While Aunt Petunia spits poison about his “worthless” parents and Uncle Vernon’s belt leaves fresh welts, Harry clings to the one truth that keeps him going: the freak accidents are his power, and no one can take that from him.
When Dudley and his gang finally invite him to “play a game,” Harry is so starved for kindness that he almost believes it. What follows is not friendship, but cruelty dressed up as fun, and it will push Harry to rely on his magic and his instincts in ways no normal child ever should. This episode dives deeper into the abuse, the loneliness, and the fierce will to survive that shape this version of pre Hogwarts Harry.
