Über diesen Titel
When most folks say "A.I" or "artificial intelligence" these days they mean Chat GPT or a similar system. This kind of AI is what this podcast is about. A computer application that can scan voluminous data sets almost instantly, and then share it's answer to our query in our language as if it were speaking to us. These systems, which are limited by (1) which data they have access to and (2) the biases of their creators (and are unable to have an original idea) are sort of like Encyclopedia 3.0. I use them as I would an encyclopedia - double-checking any important informaiton they give me, and always aware of the biases of the source.
Studies have shown that when we use these AI systems to do our creative work, we almost instantly decrease our brain's creative capacity. Likewise, I believe that turning to AI for emotional support decreases our ability to connect emotionaly with other humans. In this episode I share my concerns about how we humans might be harming ourselves with AI in three specific ways:
- when we allow AI to do our creative work,
- when we rely on AI for emotional support, and
- when we allow AI to define who we are in the world.
How do you see these tools? Do you share any of these concerns? ... I don't hear it spoken about much so let's talk about it with our friends and family, and keep the conversation alive. 🥰
