Nina

Charming, captivating, seductive—and a cold-blooded killer. I married the Pakhan of the Russian Bratva anyway. I had to, it was part of the deal.

Now, I’m faking marital bliss as I tremble with fear, and I cannot wait to be out of the clutches of this ruthless man.

Roman

I get anything I desire, and I want this perfectly imperfect little manipulator. The way she can deceive anyone into believing she’s crazy in love with me just makes me want her even more.

She doesn't know it yet, but I am not letting her go.

The deal is off.

This series is quite interesting, lot of spicy scene and a great storyline- however, some parts are not making so much sense or it would have been nice to get more in depth with the characters and their healing.
The performance is amazing! Really love the voices !!

Great Performance and general a Nice series

Kurzweilige Unterhaltung. zum Ende hin passiert viel auf einmal. Schade das da nicht mehr draus gemacht wurde. Die Sprecher sind super

It was my first time listening to one of Neva Altaj's books and I went into it with little expectations... and ended up liking it much more than I thought I would! Now that I've finished this first one in the series, I'll actually move on and get the next one.
The story is a little spicy, not excessively; Nina has a strong personality and doesn't let herself be intimidated by Roman, and Roman is just the right amount of sweet to work well with this hard, tattooed mafia-boss exterior.
[spoiler warning!] The one star I'm deducting for the story is for the - in my opinion - unnecessary pregnancy announcement in one of the very last sentences. It felt too much like "ooh let's throw that trope in there just for the hell of it" *eye roll *
The one star I'm deducting for the narrators is (like another person has mentioned in the ratings as well) because the female narrator just could NOT decide on one single pronunciation of Roman's name and stick with it.

Liked it much more than I thought I would!

I didn't like a man's voice reading a woman's part. I would be better if everyone read their own part, man and woman!

loved it! This story was so wholesome and I was laughing a lot. It is not that dark and you should not listen to it for the s*x scenes, they are definitely not a main focus here. But this unconventional love story was just so sweet and funny to follow with still enough action.
