This audiobook wrecked me in the best way. It’s emotional, raw, and breathtakingly beautiful—filled with moments that made me laugh, cry, and reflect deeply. Taylor Jenkins Reid tackles hard topics like homophobia and societal expectations with honesty and heart, Julia Whelan’s narration is stellar, bringing each emotion and voice to life with such care and authenticity. She doesn’t just tell the story—she makes you feel every word.
What elevates this story even more is its beautiful connection to space and the stars—a moving metaphor for love, loss, and our place in the universe. I’ll definitely listen again. If I could give it more than five stars, I would.

The exact timeline is a little harder to follow when listening to the book as opposed to reading it, but despite some jumping back and forth you can always still tell at which point of the story you are.

this really is up there with my favourites (7 husbands / malibu rising), I really enjoyed it! Part of it might be that I love the space shuttles too haha! performance was great, I enjoyed the story and finished the book in 3 days.

Ich habe jetzt 2 Stunden gehört und was sofort auffällt ist der doch sehr einfache Erzählstil. Es kommt eigentlich immer: „Barbara said, Joan said, she said, he said, …said“. Das ist wirklich sehr einfallslos.
Die Sprecherin ist allerdings sehr gut. Besonders die Kinderstimme klingt authentisch.
