The sequel to the explosive New York Times bestselling debut An Ember in the Ashes, that’s captivated readers worldwide.

A Torch Against the Night takes readers into the heart of the Empire as Laia and Elias fight their way north to liberate Laia’s brother from the horrors of Kauf Prison. Hunted by Empire soldiers, manipulated by the Commandant, and haunted by their pasts, Laia and Elias must outfox their enemies and confront the treacherousness of their own hearts.

In the city of Serra, Helene Aquilla finds herself bound to the will of the Empire’s twisted new leader, Marcus. When her loyalty is questioned, Helene finds herself taking on a mission to prove herself — a mission that might destroy her, instead.

I absolutely loved this sequel! OMG!
The narrators from the first book were a lot better though, because the woman who narrated Helena's parts didn't do a great job in this one
It was difficult do distinguish the dialogue from the rest of the text. She didn't change her voice very much and ended up reading a piece of dialogue in her regular voice even though the added action beat was "he growled". But in the end the story was simply too gripping and I still give it 5/5 stars.
Why did they push back the release of the third book???? Need it!!! NOW!!!!
(Also they seem to have used really good microphones because sometimes you can hear the narrators swollow and at one point I think I even heard a stomach grumble LOL But in my humble opinion it added to the listening experience!)

So good!!
