That’s how I felt about Milos. He was from Europe, a doctor, wealthy, athletic. He had an accent and a dog. Milos was textbook marriage material. For him it was “love at first sight”, but for me, it was “anxiety on every date”. Something was telling me to run - but for two years, the only running I did was straight into his arms.

An unbelievable story of a wunderful person. I see Brittani in a whole new light now, even after watching her for years and years on YouTube.
Listened to the book in just one day and I‘m still thinking about it the next day nonstop. Wow.

Even though the story is sad and so unbelievable, I am glad that Brittani's family is now happy and safe. Very well written and recorded!

I couldn’t leave the book until I knew how it ended! This is a crazy “love” story! Omg, the poor woman! How is it possible that such people exist?! It’s a brilliant plot for a movie.. but I wish no one to go through something remotely similar. Resect for the author! A brilliantly written book and a brilliant woman. Way to go, girl!!

You can tell that she is not a professional audiobook narrator. so her voice can get a bit annoying after some time. but it's nice to hear true emotions as she is speaking because it happened to her.

Also, I feel like she was/is also just really naive, in the relationship and in the incidents. Most of the time it sounds like she is overreacting and making things bigger than they are. (like the porn thing...) if you look at the way she was speaking about the book and her story on Youtube and other social media. It feels like she just wants you to buy the book. She makes it really dramatic like she was about to be trafficked into slavery or something. I get that she for sure needs money after all of that and that she wants to warn others and tell them there is a way out if you are in an abusive relationship. But it just feels like she is milking it.
Don't get me wrong I think it's awful that she had to go through all of that. that she felt that fear. nobody should!

But I also feel like, maybe it's a cultural thing, that she doesn't get his culture at all. I am not from Serbia but from Europe. everyone calls babies they're baby. and East European mothers have a totally different sense of family than Americans do. I get that his mom was annoying and I would have been enraged too. but on the other hand, it is, for real, a cultural thing. she was acting totally normal for a Balkan mom (with the baby)

As someone who has been watching Brittani for a long time, I didn't know what to expect because she is always such a happy and bubbly Person. I guess I am one of those who were really susprised about her Ex and the sudden Pregnancy BUT I never would have guessed what had been happening behind the scenes. I really really liked the "Book" and couldn't stop listening. I don't know Brittani personally but I'm really proud of her! That she went there till the End for her little Rex.. Before the Book I saw Brittani as a happy and maybe a little insecure (but who isn't) Person, but now I really see her as a powerful Woman and Mother. Good Job Brittani!

I follow Ms. Taylor on her YouTube channel but even so the revelations in this book were unexpected. I applaud her bravery and strength of character in sharing her story. This book is simply a must read for anyone beginning a new relationship in this day and age. Highly recommended.
