My only criticism is that this wonderful story is too short. An excellent narration that brings the characters so much to life, one feels one is right there listening to their conversations.

So ein wunderbares Buch

Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten. Bitte versuche es in ein paar Minuten noch einmal.
Eigentlich ist es ja nur ein relativ dünnes Buch, das den Briefwechsel zwischen Buchhändlerin und Kundin wiedergibt. Trotzdem spürt man richtig, wie hier Freundschaft entsteht. Die Stimmen der Sprecher sind wunderbar. Vor allem die Sprecherin der Helene Hanff trifft den Tonfall, wie man sich die Amerikanerin vorstellt, wirklich sehr gut! Kann ich auf jeden Fall empfehlen!

Absolutely loved this, with its quintessentially English historical characteristics and an outspoken New Yorker’s fascination of English literature, developing an unusual and beautiful relationship. I believe this was Virginia Evan’s main inspiration for her novel The Correspondent.
