Salute the Dark is the fourth book in the critically acclaimed epic fantasy series Shadows of the Apt by Adrian Tchaikovsky, winner of the Arthur C. Clarke Award. As spymaster Stenworld makes a stand in his home city, others must choose where their loyalties lie.

Building on Fritz Leiber’s sword and magic themes, this 10-book series leaves nothing to be desired. Characters male and female are conflicted and diverse, Tchaikovsky builds a glitteringly fascinating world - the reading is subtie and surprising, too. No sign of misandry either…. (to very much disagree with one other reviewer)

Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten. Bitte versuche es in ein paar Minuten noch einmal.
Leider ein bedauerliches Beispiel von modernem Zwang zur Misandrie, zum Männerhass. Männer als Vehikel, deren Tod zur Charakterbildung von weiblichen Charakteren dienen. Das war früher andersrum, was ebenfalls nicht gut war. Allerdings finde ich es bedauerlich, dass sämtliche weiblichen Charaktere immer die tollsten und besten sein müssen. Die männlichen Hauptcharaktere können ruhig sterben, die weiblichen müssen die Helden sein. Sehr bedauerlich.

Insofern ist dann hier mit dieser Serie für mich auch Schluß.
