À propos de ce titre

A Sabbat Worlds novel.

When the vital forge world of Orestes comes under attack by a legion of Chaos Titans, the planet is forced to appeal for help. The Titans of Legio Invicta respond, committing their own force of war engines to the battle.

Listen to it because....

It's a vision of total war in the 41st millennium, from the smallest soldier to the largest God-Machine.

The story:

When the vital forge world of Orestes comes under attack by a legion of Chaos Titans, the planet is forced to appeal for help. The Titans of Legio Invicta, although fresh from combat and in desperate need of refit and repair, respond, committing their own force of war engines to the battle. As the god-machines stride to war, the world trembles, for the devastation they unleash could destroy the very world they have pledged to save.

Written by Dan Abnett. Narrated by Toby Longworth. Run time 13 hours and 39 minutes

Like to listen to it while working on my titan!
Speaker has a pleasant voice range for the characters.
Plot wise it gives a lot of insight behind the armor-plating of the titan-princeps, the mechanicus and inner workings on a forge world!

Good read! Give it a listen!

Coming from years of first playing the tabletop and then primarily the videogames, this was only my second w40k book. The start overwhelmed me a bit because the story follows about 5-6 pov characters with multiple side characters each. At times the story dragged on a bit, leaving me wondering where it's headed. Eventuelly, towards the half/last third the pace catches on. The characters are sympathetic but lacking a bit depth. Overall a really nice experience. Personal note: I started this book in the hopes for a deep dive into Mechanicus world building. It definitely has some of that but to me there wasn't much new. It's more concerned with the relationship of Imperium and Mechanicum and of course... the titans and their crews.

Some lengths, overall good

If you line Titans it is a must. I recommend it. Also very informative about the Adeptus Mechanicus.
