Colombian writer, born in Bogotá, Colombia. He studied English Literature at the University of Arkansas (Little Rock, AR, USA) and has a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Victoria (Victoria, BC, Canada). He is a storytelling enthusiast, voice artist, voice actor, and voice-over artist. He has always looked for ways to bring stories to young people in Latin America because he believes that adolescence is the most difficult stage of human being.
From an early age, he showed a taste for poetry and grew up reading the stories of Dickens, Shaw, and Hemingway. He has been a Language and Literature teacher for more than two decades in some of the most prestigious schools in Colombia, where he has been able to witness first-hand unusual events involving parents and children.
Antonio Ortiz is married to the love of his life. Giovanna Zuluaga, his partner in letters, music, and travels, and with whom he has written 'Discovering Miranda'. Antonio is the first author in Colombia to write novels about adolescent issues. Maleducada, his first work, has become a Bestseller and a benchmark in Juvenile Literature, reaching thousands and thousands of students in different countries and transforming the lives of those who read it.
Presentations in Guatemala, Panama, Peru, and Colombia, have positioned Antonio as a family speaker to listen to. His works, La Extraña en Mí, Lo que nunca te dije, Un silencio prohibido, are real testimonies that seek to open spaces for debate and reflection in both school and family environments.
