Über diesen Titel
There’s chasing the truth. There’s hunting down a story.
And then there’s walking straight into a war.
Marcus Dane is not a man to be investigated.
He’s the shadows in a city full of secrets. Silent. Unforgiving. The kind of danger that doesn’t make noise until it’s too late.
I came to Charleston for answers. The explosion at Folly Beach Pier was no accident, and I’m going to prove it. My editor says to be smart, to keep my distance. But that’s hard to do when Marcus keeps showing up—shoving me against walls, growling threats in my ear, daring me to dig too deep.
The real problem?
I don’t know how to stop.
He says I don’t belong in his world.
That if I don’t walk away, I won’t like what I find.
But I’m not leaving. Not without the truth.
Even if it gets me burned.
The Sentinel is an enemies-to-lovers/protector romance with obsessive, possessive themes. It’s the second in the Dominion Hall series but can be listened to as a standalone.
Warning: This book contains a morally gray antihero, explicit sexual content, and profanity. Recommended for 18+.
About the Dominion Hall series:
Seven men. One brotherhood.
Built in Charleston, South Carolina in the shadows of war and wealth, Dominion Hall isn’t just a mansion—it’s their fortress. Ruthless. Untouchable. Dangerous.
But even the strongest men fall… for the wrong woman.
Enemies will come.
Betrayal will burn.
And the men of Dominion Hall?
They’ll bury anyone who dares to touch what’s theirs.
Possessive. Jealous. Obsessive.
These billionaires don’t share. They claim.
For fans of dangerous love, anti-heroes who live by their own rules, and the women who bring them to their knees.

Book:
I didn’t expect anything particularly deep or complicated. I was looking for something I could listen to while driving or doing other tasks, without needing my full attention—and in that sense, the book delivered exactly what I wanted.
The beginning was very slow and almost hard to get into, as it focuses heavily on describing the intense, obsessive need the characters feel for each other. There was also a lot of repetition throughout the chapters, including repeated phrases and callbacks. By about 3/4 of the way through, this became quite exhausting. Story-wise, not much actually happens; events are stretched out long, and the plot only becomes interesting and more fast pacing towards the end.
The tension between Marcus and Claire is written fairly well, the smut scenes were surprisingly well done.
Audiobook:
The audio quality was very poor, and it’s honestly embarrassing that it was released in this state. There is a huge imbalance between the voices and the overall equalization. While her chapters—and the female narration in general—were pleasant and easy to listen to, his chapters were far too loud and sounded barely edited. Some sentences weren’t even cut properly and were repeated, including noticeable mistakes.
Good Narrators, book ok, bad audiobook quality
