impressiv
das hörbuch war ausgezeichnet. die geschichten wurden spannend und lebendig erzählt und enthielten va. richtung ente einige interesante plot twists.
insgesammt sehr emfelenswert.

Horror?
First of all, i rate this book as a warhammer book. That means the star rating i gave it, is not in comparsion to "regular" books, but to other black library books.
Are the Stories any good?
This book ties three decent warhammmer 40k stories into a forth story that is not worth mentioning.
The three stories in itself are two astra militarum stories and one domestic story. All of them are a good read/listen and describe the topics they each are portraying in very great detail.
The first story plays in a trenchwar on a nameless world, where no one knows why they are fighting and not even who is the enemy.
The second stories background is in army that just pacified a planet and is now travelling through the warp to reach the next warzone (it plays mainly on a huge space ship),
The third is of a priest who doubts himself and plays on an isolated scavanging/recycling space station.
If you want to find out more about the lifes of the regular humans in any of these environments in form of a nice story, then this book is totally worth a buy in my opinion.
The voice actors:
I enjoyed them all. If you enjoyed the voice acting in the preview you will enjoy the rest as well.
The Horror:
This book both includes horror on a personal level (things that happen to the protagonists in person/in their mind/to their friends, body horror, psychic horror etc.) and also horror on a grand scale (e.g. the machinery of the imperium/the warp and how it affects millions of lives each day etc.).
However the main questions id like to ask in regards to horror are:
Was i horrified? (did the read create any feeling of "Angst") - No
Was i scared to read on at some point? - No
Was i afraid of the dark or got spooked by weird noises, etc. after listening? - (did any of the horror last for a while after reading) - No
TLDR
Stories: three decent, one crap (3 stars)
Voice Acting: Top notch (5 stars)
Horror: i wasnt scared once, but each story def. includes horror elements (2 stars)
Overall: 3 Stars

Empfehlenswert....
Zwei der drei Geschichten sind hervorragend, doch die Geschichte der imperialen soldatin konnte mich nicht wirklich überzeugen. Ausserdem konnte ich das Ende der übergeordneten Geschichte, die alles verbindet, bereits nach der ersten Story des Kommissars vorhersehen.
Nichts desto trotz sehr empfehlenswert, schon alleine wegen der genialen ersten Story!
