Good Historical Romance but didn't feel like the first book in a series
A quick read with an interesting premise, but it felt like there was a story beforehand that I should've read first.
While this is the first book in a series, The Hellion was almost too confusing for a reader who hasn't read any of the author's previous books.
There were so many characters & plots mentioned I had no clue about, which made the first half of the book drag on a little.
But I liked the premise, and Cleopatra was a refreshing FMC for a Historical Romance.
I couldn't fully feel invested in the characters, but that could also be because of my mood, and I was zoning out a lot while listening.
I’d still say give this book a shot if you crave a Historical Romance.
Bonus points for the audiobook also being free on KU!

Ewiges Hin und Her
Die Geschichte schildert die Rivalität zwischen zwei rivalisierenden Familien im Spielhöllengeschäft. Sie haben eine Art Waffenstillstandsabkommen geschlossen, bei dem die junge Frau der einen Familie mit Unterstützung der anderen Familie in die Gesellschaft eingeführt werden soll, um einen „titled husband“ zu bekommen. In dieser Zeit gibt es andauernd gegenseitig Empfindlichkeiten, Misstrauen und Vorwürfe, das geht auf Dauer auf die Nerven.
