After 26,000 years the Void Wraith have returned. The Eradication has begun.

Great first 4 books! Getting better with each one. Last 2 are only ok but still fun!

Straightforward action-packed scifi space saga
If you liked starship troopers then you should definitely give this classic action filled space-saga a go. It is written in a military "semper fi" gloryfied style. Although the "sci" part has its flaws (the heliogates made me cringe) and the superficial characters can be a little boring it is still entertaining and easy to listen to. If you could compare scifi novels to wine then this would be a good pilsner beer.

incomplete but very good
Enjoyed it but it is not finished so not the full set. very well narrated and a good story

Derivative and boring
can't get past the first chapters. This is just mass effect with less interesting characters. and mass effect was just star trek with more interesting characters.
The speaker tries his best to portray these characters, only that the characters are tropes of tropes.
maybe the other books are better, but I feel it's not a good idea to start a story in the middle.
I feel like this might be a fun introduction to space adventure sci fi. but to me it just doesn't bring enough new ideas in both setting and story to make me want to learn more.

Disappointing.
I'm sorry to say I couldn't finish this audiobook.
Why is that?
Well, it started out quite nice and interesting and the plot, while simple and spiked with unimaginative races and technology, was easy to follow had potential.
By now I'm somewhat half way through and the story decayed to simple, indifferent, sometimes childish.
An extraterrestial intelligence intelligence in a non-human ship using English language that is supposed to be military slang, foreign races just submitting power to a ridiculous human superiority in leading a war, because they are somewhere in the middle between stupid and predictable?
It is growing absurd.
The well meant but not very reasonable voicing of different characters just underlines this.
Although I'm just listening to this audiobook while driving I cannot continue without recognizing all those flaws.
I just don't know what the others like about this story.
I can't recommend it.
