Wonderfully entertaining, well written yet again!

Thoroughly enjoyed the third book and can't wait for the fourth! Was a bit sceptical about the new speaker as received some scathing reviews but I can't fault her.

Eccentric old-age team solves unforeseeable crime

Suspenseful story, unexpected bends, British humour. Philosophic and thoughtful.
Speaker has a bit a whispery voice that sometimes makes it a bit hard to listen to the story. As non-native English-speaking person and wearing hearing-aids that are connected via Bluetooth to my phone it's however still ok.
I'm looking forward to listen to further stories of the Thursday Murder Club!

Loved the previous two, now disapointed

Lesley Manville was brilliant and brought all characters to loveable life. Fiona Shaw kind of lispels and constantly changes volume. Very sad and disapointing!

Lovely & heartwarming

These books are such mood-boosters. I'm deeply fond of all the characters and so excited to follow their stories.
Lovely job by both audio book narrators. The interviews with the author at the end are the cherry on top.

As good as the first two books in the sequel

I was looking forward to hearing more about the Thursday murder club and was not disappointed. If anything, The Bullet that Missed is even better than the first two books in the sequel. It took me a moment to adjust to Fiona Shaw as the new narrator. As most people, I find it difficult sometimes to embrace new things. But she really does a fine job - with all the characters

Open to new voices

I really enjoyed the third adventure of these four lovely elderly detectives. After reading the comments here, I don’t quite understand all the fuss about the new narrator. Lesley Manville gave magnificent performances in the past two audiobooks, but Fiona Shaw also does the job quite well. It's a change, she has her own approach and brings different nuances to the characters. Perhaps some listeners should take a cue from the residents of Cooper’s Chase and be open to new things. It’s definitely worth a try.

Such an enjoyable story

Clever, funny, entertaining and with lovable characters, this is a great story. It perfectly follows the first two books in this series and further develops each character and introduces several new ones. Although highly unbelievable, the plot twists and changing relationships make for an enjoyable read. The speaker has changed from the last book but was also brilliant.

That warm fuzzy feeling

Die Senioren-Truppe, von der man nicht wusste, dass man sie in seinem Leben braucht, ist für den 3. Teil zurück. Es macht einfach Spaß, Joyce, Elizabeth & Co. bei ihren Abenteuern zu begleiten.
Zuerst war ein wenig enttäuscht, dass Lesley Manville diesen Teil nicht liest, aber Fiona Shaw macht es genauso großartig. Freue mich schon sehr auf Band 4.

Even better than the first two books

Hardly possible, but I liked this third Thursday Murder Club even better than the first two books. Richard Osman is so beautifully tender with all his characters, his humor continues to be subtle and British at the same time, the plot twists and twists, but still drives forward …

In addition, The Bullet that Missed combines the respective strengths of the prior books: a manifold cast and an ever progressing plot. Another gem of a book.

Some comments reflect a bit of disappointment with Fiona Shaw as a reader. Not my opinion. She is an excellent reader.

Finally a comment on the interview wit the author that comes with every of the books. Usually, I am weary about these interviews. It often feels like they are just to beef up the nominal length of the audio book. Not in this case. The way Richard Osman speaks about his characters and the way his books develop is as beautiful as the books themselves.

Sehr kurzweilig

Entgegen einiger Rezensionen muß ich sagen, dass ich von der Sprecherin begeistert war. Sie hat den typisch englischen Humor trocken rübergebracht, so dass ich laut im Auto lachen musste. Die Stimme war angenehm und gut zu verstehen.
Die Geschichte ist kurzweilig und gut geschrieben. Ich freue mich bereits auf den nächsten Teil im nächsten Jahr.
