Maud Demille is a daughter of Innkeepers—a special group who provide "lodging" to other-planetary visitors—so she knows that a simple life isn't in the cards. But even Maud could never have anticipated what Fate would throw at her.

Except...in helping Dina save the world, she met Arland, the Marshal of House Krahr, one of the most powerful vampire houses. One thing led to another and he asked for her hand in marriage. She declined. Arland is not used to hearing the word "no," and try as she might, Maud can't just walk away from Arland. It doesn't help that being human is a lot harder for Maud than being a vampire.
To sort it all out, she accepts his invitation to visit his home planet. House Krahr is extremely influential and Maud knows that a woman—a human, with a very questionable past—who's turned down a proposal from its most beloved son won't get a warm reception. Maybe she’s not sure about marrying Arland, but House Krahr isn’t going to decide for her. Maud Demille has never run from a fight, and House Krahr will soon discover that there's a lot more to Maud than they’re expecting.

How to date a vampire lord 😉
I have read, listened, relistened and now listened this book in graphic audio. It's my favorite from the series so far, because I like Mauds fighting spirit and Helen is a vicious cute kitten.
The story is for everyone who likes royal titles, joggling politics and swords. In the graphic audio you can listen the lady gasp after a slur and the mace smack into the opponents armor. It's great!
The vampires planet is described very beautifully and the graphic audio underlined the nature with sounds, that really enriched the picture.
The fully understand this book I would say you should have listened the previous books from the series.

So good !!
Eigentlich gehöre ich eher zu den Menschen, die gerne ihre Bücher selber lesen. Als Geschenk habe ich 3 Guthaben bekommen und die ersten beiden an andere Bücher/Serien „verschwendet“. Nicht falsch verstehen, die Büscher waren gut gelesen, aber eben leider nichts für mich. Dann habe ich mich dazu entschieden ein Buch in dieser „dramatized“ Adaption zu hören, welches ich schon kannte. Und was soll ich sagen: es war sooooo toll! Ich war völlig fasziniert und konnte die Szenen vor meinen Augen sehen! Wie gesagt, ich kannte das Buch bereits, deswegen war es zu Anfanf seltsam für mich Mauds Stimme zu hören, aber daran konnte ich mich schnell gewöhnen.
Auch wenn normale Hörbücher nichts für mich sind, bin ich von dieser Version absolut begeistert und kann sie jedem ans Herz legen! Tolle Arbeit!

Completely addicted!
I keep listening to all keeper books repeatedly as I love the characters and adapted voices so much!
Humor, Action, Drama…excellent Plots!

Simply great
I love the innkeeper chronicles from Ilona Andrews. This audio production is as good as the book! The voices match the characters really well and the music and sounds in the background aren't too loud. Simply great!
