Everything goes about as poorly as expected.
Themes: Black sorcerer, white knight, evil princess, oh my! This whole story is crack, technically an enemies-to-lovers tale, with light angst, mostly as an excuse for cuddles; sharing a bed, who hurt you is basically a marriage proposal; being adopted by a black sorcerer is like being adopted by a cat, you get no say in the matter; Tan is a walking disaster; Devan needs a hug, and Tan volunteers himself as tribute; I'm not saying baby adventurers are stupid, but if you put a candle next to their ears their eyes will shine; rule one when dealing with black sorcerers, don't piss them off; rule two is don't touch their knight; just a little killing; Serenity has successfully pissed Devan off for the last time; magical shenanigans shall now commence!

Dark Mage and White knight
absolutely great with a good amount of humour. listened and loved it. for the adventurer-story loving people among us, and the ones who love a good mm story

Love this book
I absolutely love this book and have read it many, many times so once it came out as audio, naturaly I had to get it. Gotta say, was a bit disapointed by the narration . Not my cup of tea. Narrator didn't do the book justice . Book on itself is great. Its like D&D and RPG love story and makes my gamer heart happy. All in all still very
enjoyable book and if you are not narration snob like I am, you probably going to love the audiobook too

Great story, great narrator but there are soundproblems
As usual with AJ Sherwood the story is funny and I was snickering more or less the whole time. Kirk Griffin does a wonderful job in giving all the characters their own voice- and I mean really all the characters! But there are soundproblems. Sometimes you hear two phrases at once or it sounds as if you have more than one narrator. Because of that, I “only” give four stars. The problems don’t make it impossible to follow the story but they are there.

Truly a fun time
Not much to say other than I wasn't bored even once the entire time listening to this book. It truly was a joy since, sometimes, a lighthearted and humor focused story is exactly what I need. This was exactly that. If your having a hard time, just need a repreve from those story's that leave you at the edge of your seat for an unfairly long time or just like to listen to good humor, this book is definitely for you.

Just great
I had so much fun listening to this audiobook. The story is perfect when you want something light and fun to not heavy your heart. Absolutely recommend!

Funny, In Lore, Side Eye
Diese zugegeben doch sehr lange Geschichte machte einfach Spaß. Sehr viele PopkulturRefenzen, die ich gewisslich nicht alle mitbekommen habe. Die beiden Protagonisten sind Zucker und vom Sprecher fantastisch wiedergegeben. Das Ganze Buch vermittelt D&D Vibes mit Self-Aware-Moments. Das humoristische Moment steht klar im Vodergrund aber eben darum kann auch die lange Spieldauer die Hörfreude nicht trüben. Ein Feel-Good Buch. Wir bleiben die ganze Zeit über in der Perspektive einer der beiden Hauptprotagonisten, lernen aber sehr viele Nebencharaktere kennen. Natürlich gibt es die eine oder andere Spicy-Scene als Sahnehäubchen.
