Truly tantalizing

What an amazing book, truly tantalizing. I read it twice - the first time I could barely put it down, read through it in one go, the second time I took my time, read it chapter per chapter and processed everything I read properly before going on with the story. And then I bought it as an audiobook and listened to it and it is every bit as amazing as the reading experience - Juanita McMahon does a fantastic job! I remember one time I had to pause because I was tearing up!
The title basically gives away what this book is all about: old friends from university, seperated by tragedy and then, all of a sudden reunited by an invatation to a manor in the French Alps. But it's so much more than that. Only slowly and through different points of view all of their stories are revealed and it turns out that not even all of them know what really happened all those years ago. The reader, or at least me, is captivated by the mystery that is kept up through at least half of the book. But even when it's revealed what happened back then, the present is no less captivating as there are certainly old and new feelings to be dealt with for all of the characters - and the different perspectives are just beuatifully read by Juanita McMahon.
The end was a bit predictable - at least, when you've reached the last few chapters - but the rest of the book was truly magnificent. The story, the characters, the scenic setting, the style of writing, the reading - I loved all those things about 'The Reunion'. It's a book I will certainly read and reread and listen and re-listen to time and time again.
