This is one of those books that combines science, history, comedy and the description of a wonderful life lived to the fullest. One can find many wonderful thoughts and ideas to take away from reading this book. highly recommended.

Die Person Albert Einstein

Das Hörbuch hat mir alles in allem gefallen- dennoch musste ich stellenweise „durchhalten“ und habe zwischenzeitlich zur Abwechslung immer mal wieder andere Hörbücher gehört. Das Leben von Albert Einstein wird sehr genau wiedergegeben und sein Charakter detailgetreu skizziert. Die wiederholten physikalischen Abhandlungen waren für meinen Geschmack etwas zu langatmig, denn ich konnte ihnen nicht besonders gut folgen. Jemand, der sich mit der Materie auskennt, wird daran aber wohl seine Freude haben.
Der Sprecher war sehr gut und er hat den stellenweise schon sehr spröden Text trotzdem gut rüber gebracht.
Wer detaillierte Biografien mag, kommt hier voll auf seine Kosten. Wer Dinge lieber kurz und prägnant auf den Punkt gebracht mag, sollte lieber die Finger davon lassen.

Diese Biographie ist sehr gut recherchiert und gibf einzjgartige Einblicke in das Leben von Albert Einstein. Obwohl das Buch zwischendurch sehr langatmig ist, kann ich es trotzdem sehr empfehlen.

Die Biographie wurde von einem nicht Physiker geschrieben, der aber durchaus versteht die wissenschaftlichen Grundzüge und die Diskussionen darzustellen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt aber vor allem in der Person und der geschichtlichen Einbettung von Albert Einstein. Dies wird von Walter Isaackson großartig gemeistert.
Die sonore Stimme des Sprechers Edward Hermann hält einen immer bei der Geschichte in dem er ausdrucksstark doch nie übertrieben spricht. Sein distinguiertes Englisch gleichwohl von einem Amerikaner hebt ihn aus der Menge der Sprecher heraus.

This biography not only gives an account of Albert Einstein as a person with a private life and a political agenda, it also does not shy away from giving insights into relativity theory and quantum physics. Walter Isaacson admirably succeeds in both respects. He has a gift to bring the essence of a person to life.
