A real episode of DW with amazing reader
The story is great, the greatest I have "read" yet. If it was a real episode in the twelfth doctor's seasons, it would probably be among the most popular ones.
It includes all there is to like about doctor who, from the strange and funny creatures, over diverse and very human humans and actually frightening antagonists, to the true twelfth doctor's charm. His voice in particular is well intoned by the reader, he even got the accent and manner of speaking right. Clara too, is incredibly well made and read. Other than most audiobooks I've so far read of the series, the story is gripping and picks up pace quickly with a typical grand and fantastic ending. The audiobook's length was the only drawback for me before purchase, since it usually seems more worth the credit to use it for long, hard to otherwise buy books. It was really worth it though, again, great story, very enjoyable reader, can only recommend.

very good story with outstanding narrator
I loved the narrator, first to say.
I was very surprised by the book’s perspective, since it is written in first-person, told through “the Governor”, the administrator of the prison where this story takes place. It was odd at first, but refreshingly different.
During the first half of the story, I found the Doctor not acting very 12-ish but more 11-ish – but, to be fair, I now have a lead of 1 1/2 seasons No 12 and Clara over the author. The second half was very much 12 as he would act on TV.
I liked the sparse appearances of Clara (not because I don’t like Clara at all, but because she lighted the story up without acting as Super-Clara – like o TV and in the last half of the book). But that most likely depends on everyone’s individual fondness for her. If you like her behaviour more, you’ll probably disappointed by her just waving placards from time to time. Concerning Clara, the author absolutely nailed it. I especially liked her mentioned problem with the Doctor suddenly looking old, as that was so TV-Clara.
