Inhaltsangabe

Nico

She serves me coffee late at night when I come around to write lyrics, but it’s not the caffeine I’ve gotten addicted to. We’ve got the spark, but she’s the only woman in town who seems to be immune to my charms. When it’s time for me to leave for my cross-country tour, I just can’t imagine not seeing her for months. So I offer her a job on the road with me.

Kat

Everyone in LA knows that Nico Todd has a way with songs and with the ladies. What he doesn’t know is that I would love to let him have his way with me. But my life can only revolve around one infuriatingly cute guy - the six-year-old that I live with. Imagine my surprise when Nico finds out about my little boy and tells me to bring him and my mom on the road too.

And imagine Nico’s surprise when he realizes my son is the biggest charmer of them all.

I loved it, I loved it, I looooved it!

My third book by Kayley Loring, and my third unforgettable experience! I loved every minute! There isn't a thing I would change, it's perfect from the beginning till the end. I enjoyed this book as much as the other two, maybe even more. I laughed, cried, couldn't stop reading/listening! I wished to be Katherine, I wished to experience all the powerful moments with Nico! I'm so happy for their HEA.
Partially because of the narrators, I mean WOOOW! Jason's voice is like the ultimate caress, so smooth, so masculine, so deep, so lovely, so sexy, I love how he plays with his voice, how he changes it regarding the characters. And he sang! He actually SANG and I loved it! I absolutely love Mackenzie's performance as well, she is one of the best female narrators for sure! What an experience, what a story. Thank you! I've already purchased another book by Kayley and I can't wait to listen to it. But I'll definitely come back to this one!

It's so delightful and heartwarming

ReviewNever have I ever listened to an audiobook
I don't know how and where to start sharing with you what I loved about this story. Cause I love just about everything about it. From the lovable main charecters Nico and Kat, and the charismatic delightful supporting characters like Kat's Mom, Louise and the mega adorable Tate (Kat's 6 year old son), and Ricky the bus driver. And you get to follow up on Shane and Willa (SLEEPER) here every now and then.
CHARMER is a lot more than just a romantic comedy, it has an emotional touch and story to it. Very important tender scenes between a Mom and her daughter, Mom with her young son and between a young boy and her future daddy (which he doesn't know yet). So there's a lot more to it than a simple romcom novel where two perfect couple falls in love and they live happily ever after. No. Here you have a Mom, Kat, who loves his son so much, he comes first in everything in her life. To a point she forgets that she has the right to be happy herself. And there is this famous charming guy, Nico, a famous singer and rising star, who falls hard for Kat, and is determined to do everything just having Kat in his sight and side. So he gives her a job as a videographer to document his 3 month tour. And while he knows that Kat wouldn't and couldn't leave Tate behind, Nico invited him together with Louise. And this is the start of their quest in finding out if they are meant to have a future together or a future apart.
I must say, I see many tender moments in this novel. Kayley gives us the feels not only in the romance part, but also in maternal side of love. Those tender moments with Kat and Tate. And that very emotional talk and moments between Kat and her Mom Louise. Nobody that read or listened to this scene would not end up teary eyed. I even cried (and I didn't have any tissue beside me). It was beautifully and tenderly written. I have read/listened to almost all (except 2) of Kayley Lorings novels/audiobooks, never have I ever teared up and cry. CHARMED delivered more than I expected it to be. It shows the author could write a story, scenes and storylines that strums your heartstrings and wake emotions in all of us with CHARMER.
And with regards to Kayley's audiobooks. THEY ARE THE BEST. With credits or no credits, I'd get her audiobooks anytime, any way. She has the best narrators. Her female characters are tailor-made for Mackenzie Cartwright (and the other way around). What is so incredible about Mackenzie in this audio is her versatility. How she gave life to Louise's personality and that accent she gave her (like that of Sophia Petrillo of Golden Girls) is absolutely brilliant. I couldn't help smiling about it! And how she then shifts to Tate, a 6 year old talkative adorable boy, awwww that is just too much , too sweet I got starstruck over her for doing that. And all three take turns in the dual narration?! Incredible! I was gobsmacked. Jason Clarke singing is one of this audiobook's highlight. To be honest, I was so intrigued and curious to hear him sing. It was really a cute moment and I was happy he did sing this out. He could have just read it, but he sang it. And that is so great. The dual narration together with Mackenzien Cartwright was really wonderful to listen to. They did it perfectly and complimented each other's voice and voice acting. This is one of the very few audiobooks that I'd listen to again and again. Never will I ever stop listening to Kayley Loring's audiobooks. She is brilliant in what she does. (less)
