Simply thought into details
A book that unfolds the real truth of humans. Not constrained by any social barrier the author nails the topics he mentions. It is a history of how humans evolved to what we are today.

Great book, informative and thought provoking
The breadth and depth of the author's knowledge and insight into our history is remarkable. Some of the ideas presented make you feel unsure whether they are the authors opinions or simply there to provoke you into considering a wider range of possibilities. Very enriching, shall accompany my thoughts on human history, development and culture for a long time. The last chapter makes you want to read it's sequel, Homo Deus.

A near psychedelic experience

Amazing book about human aspirations and position in the universe
Probably the most important book for anyone who would like to open their horizons in thinking about humanity, its goals and aspirations. Eyes opening and pushing to think!

Das beste Geschichtsbuch, das ich je gelesen habe
Jedoch ist das Hörbuch von unbegreiflich schlechter Audioqualität trotz Download in angeblich besserem Audiodateiformat.
Aber eine faszinierende Zusammenschau, wie alles wurde, wie es ist.

Great book about human nature, culture and history

A masterpiece, but where is plant medicine?
I enjoyed this book alot. However in the chapter about happiness I really have to disagree with the author. The "fact" that happiness levels are somehow preordained by bodily biochemistry and genetical makeup solely is super wrong and also that SSRIs like prozac cures depression is again super wrong. It is generally a mix of both the physical and the mental. If a depressed person takes psychedelics in an entheogenic environment that person can have life changing experiences in a couple of hours that fundamentally change their happiness levels.
Based on science, sadness is not really preordained and conditioned by the genetical make up but it's rather a dynamic property of every individuals consciousness which is affected by physical and non physical events.
What is really sad is that there are no mentions about plant medicine which were at the heart of many non christian cultures, including the South and central Americas, the ancient greek Elysian Mysteries, ancient Egypt. How can something so important be fully missed out. It is scientifically and historically known that psychedelics and their influence on ancient and current cultures was very present.
