I love the dune books and this is no exception to the row. The overall story is as complex and interesting as the rest of the series.

the chapter lengths. Splitting into 10+ hours parts makes it difficult to go back after falling asleep.

Well I love the Dune series. But I have little love for the prequels. There is way too much magic and too little politics. The pace is somewhat off. To fit into the narrative of the originals the magic useres throughout the prequels are one after another killed off an replaced by other with similar, less spectacular magic tricks. First ties to the houses and organisations are established, unfortunately in a very ham fisted plotdevicy way. If you want a big magic story. Go for it. If you want Dune similar to the original series you will most likely be disappointed.
The reader is as good as in the other books, no complaints there.
