Enjoyed it a lot
The story is definitely not in any way even close to realistic. But captivating still. And Abby Craden does a very good job. It was captivating and I could not stop listening…

Not the classic love story, but…
This story tells by far much more than just the love story of two women. In fact, I'm not even sure it's not primarily about the ice queen Neve, her history, her past, what made her the person she is. It's about fears and trauma and healing. Some of the sections are so extreme that I literally physically suffered along with them. The dialogue is so pure and full of pain and passion. The book makes you feel so much. Fantastically written. Certainly not the classic love story, but worthwhile in any case.
And once again beautifully voiced by Abby Craden, who does a great job of giving the protagonists their special character.

What a find!
I think I noticed the cover 1st and then I read the Title Details, noting that the book is read by the extraordinary voice(s) of Abby Craden. I added it to the library!
What a cool story it turned out to be, twist and all included! I must say the LGBTQ+ stories tend to merge into some form of cute but predictable, but this one, however, was a wonderful surprise and I am now on another book by Ms McKay!

Extraordinary romantic dramedy
A different start, the Icequeen mean as usual, hard to endure at times - and yet WOW: How slowly the backgrounds are opening up; how realistic the limitation and then the possibilities of psychotherapy; how surprising the twists; how open, whether it ends well; how pointed the dialogues; how witty the interspersed references to movies, chess, mythology… This work deserves attention!
Ps: I am a psychotherapist myself and the slow process presented in the book is, in my view, more realistic than much else I read!
And - again excellent read by Abby Craden!
