Nice book to get ready for the game
A nice story to give more depth to the crew of mantis. A must read for fans of Merrin.

Book meh, performance great
Constant music and, even more so, the sound effects were really annoying.
Story and writing wasn't to my liking. Romance was too spicy for StarWars, same with all the psychological insight. It was kinda tiring.
Narration was great and also very much spot - on with portraying the characters which is not an easy job considering most of them are associated with actors/voice actors due to the game.

Okay
Die Charaktere sind gut geschrieben und das Buch gibt ihnen mehr Tiefe. Die Story ist etwas generisch und nicht wirklich ein Must-Read. Kann man sich geben, muss man aber nicht.

Fast-paced, exciting and... Spicy?
First off, this book was not at all what I expected (in a good way).
It's a fast-paced adventure story that kept me guessing and subverting my expectations throughout most of it, and I couldn't put the book down. (figuratively of course, as I was listening to the audiobook) It's also surprisingly spicy, though i won't tell you what characters are involved in that spice ;)
But it is not a collection of the adventures they're going through during the 5-year break between Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor.
It's a one-off adventure, however it is also formative for the crew moving forward as this book challenges them to actually talk about their own individual long and short-term goals.
The entire Mantis crew gets their time in the spotlight, we get a good look into their brains and learn about their motivations and perspective. The real main-character of this book however, is Merrin. It's her experience that is focused on mostly, her character that we learn the most about and, while this story is formative for the whole crew, it has the most influence on her character and development.
Which is great because she joined the Mantis crew so late in Jedi: Fallen Order, and we knew the least amount about her. (Also because she is awesome.)
This book accurately captures the feeling of the video game and makes me want to play it again (and even more makes me want to play as Merrin), and I can't wait for Jedi: Survivor.

Worst canon novel
Worst canon novel so far. The style of writing is bad and the inner monologues of the mantis crew are cringe worthy. It was more a romance novel then a star wars novel. It made me look less forward to the next game.

First Audiobook I dropped
Inner monolouges we're very repetetive and the writing Style was very simple and unlike other Star Wars books. Cals character was kinda off and not really like in the Game. Greez and Cere we're pretty on point tho. The romance between merrin and the new character was cringy and did Not fit in Star wars. "Thighs that could crush Merrins head Clean Off" is Just one of the "gems" that Made me drop this Audiobook, Just awful. I don't know if it get's better but I'm Not willing to try again. You should read a summary before you Play the new Game next month skip this one. Try Legacy of the Jedi... It is pretty great.
