Love it.
It was relaxing but there was also some thrill and unexpected moments. It was soothing but also very deep as the author brings up many existential questions. And the comedy is very refreshing. But what I love most is, that the author gives a much more positive, hopeful and interesting perspective on a possible future (solar punk or somthing like that) than the worlds you typically see in movies or read about. It was so refreshing, exploring a world that is not dystopian or filled with hate and bloodlust. Thank you Becky Chambers!

took me a bit...
In the beginning... but once you are at the core of the story with the robot meeting the main character you will live a beautiful road movie with some light yet beautiful philosophical thoughts.

heart warming story

A charming look into what could be
I enjoyed this book very much. It was a breath of fresh air reading something about the future that wasn’t catastrophic or depressing. A spark of hope of what could be with a touch of philosophy.

a lovely little story
the plot itself was already a heartwarming and thoughtful story, but what really rounded the experience of listening to this audiobook was the reader Em Grosland, who put so much character and wonder into the story and the protagonists Dex and Mosscap.
even though I didn't entirely understand the world this story was set in I was totally submerged in the descriptions of it. loved it all around.

Lovely but dull and woke
The Idea is very interesting, and the story is written in a lovely way. Yet there were so many moments where I found myselfe rejected by the scholarly way the story is told . The nonbionary character was unappealing and it's naivity rather annoying than charming. The philosophical parts are on the nose, shallow and poorly conceived.
The worldbuilding is done well, and the speaker is nice to listen to, especially when speaking for the Robot - the editing is a little too obviois at times.
Would like to, but can not really recommend.

I don’t get the hype
I’ve read this book described as a warm hug. I could barely get through it. It is an astonishingly boring story of self discovery. Main character has no other life troubles but that they are somehow troubled. Maybe I’m missing the point…
