Dieses Werk gibt einen sehr detaillierten, profunden Überblick über das Leben Warren Buffetts, die Menschen, die ihn prägten und die Zeit in der er lebte. Ich bin sehr dankbar für diese ungekürzte Version, da die Umstände seiner Lebzeit sehr anschaulich, detailliert und interessant dargestellt werden und für jemanden, der sich nicht sehr gut in der Finanzindustrie und Wirtschaftsgeschichte der Vereinigten Staaten von den 1930ern an auskennt, auch notwendig sind um die Person Warren Buffet zu verstehen. Auch seine Familie wird sehr genau unter die Lupe genommen, was den ein oder anderen stören mag, was für mich jedoch auf jeden Fall dazu gehört, weil es sich bei der Familie um einen Faktor handelt, der die Person Buffett immens geprägt hat und in der auch einige Charakterzüge ablesbar sind. (Man denke an die Deals, die er mit seinen Kindern bezüglich ihres Gewichts gemacht hat)
Wer also genug Zeit und Interesse mitbringt, wird dieses Audiobook lieben. Wer nur eine Schnellübersicht über das Leben Buffetts sucht, ist hier falsch.

Du möchtest verstehen, wie Warren Buffet langfristige Anlagen aussucht, die ein geringes Versagensrisiko beinhalten - dann bist du hier goldrichtig.

Aber das bekommst du nicht als schnelle Lektüre eingeimpft.

Stattdessen lernst du ihn von kleinauf kennen mit seinem gesamten Wertesystem.
Und dann werden Krisen seiner Firmen durchlebt. Detailliert werden seine Gespräche mit wichtigen Entscheidern geschildert.
Und was dadurch aus diesen Firmen wurde.

Der Mensch kommt nicht zu kurz. Seine nicht ganz einfache Familiengeschichte gestattet hier tiefe Einblicke.

Overall love the experience. There were times when I struggled to understand the financial terms or follow the story. Partly too much detail for me.
But overall a great book, teaching great lessons.

I really enjoyed the book, but unfortunately there seem to have been some recording issues. Every so often, parts are seemingly read at a different timepoints interrupting the flow. Very unfortunate for such a great book…
