THE BESTSELLER THAT DEFINED AN AGE
From the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Goldfinch

'Everything, somehow, fit together; some sly and benevolent Providence was revealing itself by degrees and I felt myself trembling on the brink of a fabulous discovery, as though any morning it was all going to come together---my future, my past, the whole of my life---and I was going to sit up in bed like a thunderbolt and say oh! oh! oh!'

Under the influence of a charismatic classics professor, a group of clever, eccentric misfits at a New England college discover a way of thought and life a world away from their banal contemporaries. But their search for the transcendent leads them down a dangerous path, beyond human constructs of morality.

'Haunting, compelling and brilliant' The Times

'Irresistible and seductive' Guardian

'Enthralling... Forceful, cerebral and impeccably controlled' New York Times

Haben Sie die Zeit genossen, in der Sie dieses Hörbuch gehört haben? Warum oder warum nicht?

... I don't enjoy listening to it very much. Donna Tartt is an amazing writer for sure but not a very good reader. The reading sounds awkward and the audio book is not half as enjoyable as it could be if it was read by a professional reader.

I might love the book, but....

Ett fel uppstod. Försök igen om några minuter.
the book is great, i don't think i need to get into it. but, because so many people complain about the reading, i would like to say that donna tartt's reading is lovely. it's authentic. and it's rare to see an author interpret their own work, especially one so enigmatic and opaque as miss tartt. it feels almost personal, oddly soothing. i like it very much, although it seems it's not for everyone. i can only recommend this with all my heart.

Another Donna Tartt Masterpiece

Excellent. Just listen to it. Gorgeous, descriptive and atmospheric writing and story. Donna Tartt is a genius.

doing drugs, reading classics and dying dramatically is exactly what I want from life at the university

I was hesitant initially to take this version of secret history because of another bad review. But honestly I loved it and I feel the author brought the characters to life.

Loved this reading so much
