Leslie Howard
A bestselling book upon its publication, The Home-Maker is the story of family life in New England - with a twist.
Eva and Lester are getting by, with Eva living at home and looking after their children and their house full-time, and Lester going to work each day. Lester is eager to spend more time at home, and Eva is fed up with the constant stream of chaos and responsibilities around the home. When Lester has an accident and must stay at home to recover, the couple take on radically different roles.
Eva begins work in a department store, and all the while Lester and the kids come up with ever more inventive ways to be a home-maker - and keep the house spotless...
