Allie Sutton just got a new job.
Not one she wants, and definitely not one she's prepared for. She hadn't seen her dad in years, so the last thing she expects upon his sudden death is to inherit the thing he loved more than anything (or anyone)...the professional football team he owned for the last 20 years.
Luke Pierson does not want a new boss.
What he wants is to be a good father to his daughter, the best quarterback possible for his teammates. What he doesn't need is a blonde bombshell ruining the team's chances at another championship. Especially when that bombshell turns out to be his new neighbor. The neighbor he was a complete jerk to the first time they met.
For the sake of the team, they treat each other like complete professionals. In public, at least. Behind closed doors, it's a different story. And the fallout of giving in to that heat is something neither one of them can see coming.
Contains mature themes.

Continue the series
I listened to the second story in the series before this one and there were some aspect in it that I really did not like!! So I was a bit on the fence at first when I started Ali & Luke's story. But no red flags in sight here! Like in the second book of this series, it's not the typical rich athlete & poor woman trope, instead they're both successful in their own right. Takes out the power imbalance which I don't exactly love in some other books. There's also quite the age gap (10 years?), but it only even came up once or so, and it was not this big thing in their relationship.
The only trope that really reallllly annoyed me at the very end is the pregnancy announcement that authors seem to think needs to be part of at least every other book (insert serious eye roll). And not even one year into their relationship... like, come on...
Anyway, I still highly recommend listening to this! And if you're like me and dislike the pregnancy trope, just skip the very last chapter ;)
