Two teens must learn the "art of killing" in this Printz Honor-winning book, the first in a chilling new series from Neal Shusterman, author of the New York Times best-selling Unwind Dystology series.

A world with no hunger, no disease, no war, no misery: Humanity has conquered all those things and has even conquered death. Now Scythes are the only ones who can end life - and they are commanded to do so in order to keep the size of the population under control.

Citra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice to a scythe - a role that neither wants. These teens must master the "art" of taking life, knowing that the consequence of failure could mean losing their own.

Scythe is the first novel of a thrilling new series by National Book Award-winning author Neal Shusterman in which Citra and Rowan learn that a perfect world comes only with a heavy price.

I really loved the book. It has an gripping story, but also deals with some deep questions of human existence, without being preachy about it. We get to know several of the characters deeply, making the story feel personal. And the world the story is set in is incredibly plausible for our own not-too-distant future.

Can't wait to listen to the rest of the series.

Gripping Story with Deep, Complex Characters

Würden Sie Scythe noch mal anhören? Warum?

A great book, a great story! It's bin long since I last had a book that made me hate/ like characters so much and that had me not figuring out what's really going on for quite a long time!
I totally recommend it for everyone!

Fantastic!

I am a fan. All the world building, the phylosophy, the mentality of the characters are so logical and so facinating.
This book has a really good end and I am really curious to know what is yet to come!
What bothers me a little is how the speaker impersonate all the young female character, how he speaks. They all sound like little brats full of themselve XD. But it's just a detail.

A super fiction

I can highly recommend this audiobook. First the source material is great. Amazing world building, storyline and character development. Second, the narrator is very pleasant. I caught myself holding my breath at times, because the narrator was able to create such a thrilling atmosphere.

Loved every second of it!
