This is a story about craft, about work, about magic, and most of all about the pleasure and difficulty of friendship. It begins when four young misfits with a talent for magic (and trouble!) arrive at Winding Circle Temple. Despite their differences, Sandry (the noble), Tris (the merchant girl), Daji (the trader), and Briar (the "street rat") find themselves bound together in a Circle of Magic - a circle they will need when they face crushing danger in a white-knuckle climax that will have listeners glued to the edges of their seats.Follow the adventures of all the young mages-in-training with Tamora Pierce's Circle of Magic series.©1997 Tamora Pierce (P)2002 Full Cast Audio Liebesromane Literatur & Belletristik

Beskrivning från Audible

In the first audiobook of Pierce's Circle of Magic quartet, the mage Niklaren Goldeye gathers four children and takes them to Winding Circle temple. They possess powers they do not understand, which leads to their being moved to Discipline cottage and which may end up making them a family. Full Cast Audio used almost 30 actors in this presentation, and the result is an exceptional match between the voices and the character descriptions, including children's characters being voiced by children. The resulting authenticity helps bring the world of Emelan to life. High production values are also seen in the musical accents and sound quality.

Kritikerröster

"Sandry's Book is a wonderful fantasy story and the Full Cast Audio presentation puts listeners right in the middle of the action." (The Shy Librarian)

Sehr kindlich

A fine book about young people going to magic school. The main problem is the book i about a quarter the size of a normal book or half the size of a short book. Add to that the narrative many times feels spotty as if it was abridged - I had to check the description again to make sure this audiobook was unabridged. It also ends with just an event, nothing wrapping up any part of the story, just adding new posibilities to the next book.

If Audible sold the book, all four together or at least two and two, it would score better.

The full cast narration is great.

Fine short book, but too short
