Alice Hoffman's enchanting witch's brew of suspense, romance and magic -- now a major motion picture from Warner Bros.
When the beautiful and precocious sisters Sally and Gillian Owens are orphaned at a young age, they are taken to a small Massachusetts town to be raised by their eccentric aunts, who happen to dwell in the darkest, eeriest house in town. As they become more aware of their aunts' mysterious and sometimes frightening powers -- and as their own powers begin to surface -- the sisters grow determined to escape their strange upbringing by blending into "normal" society.
But both find that they cannot elude their magic-filled past. And when trouble strikes -- in the form of a menacing backyard ghost -- the sisters must not only reunite three generations of Owens women but embrace their magic as a gift -- and their key to a future of love and passion.
Funny, haunting, and shamelessly romantic, Practical Magic is bewitching entertainment -- Alice Hoffman at her spectacular best. Belletristik Familienleben Fantasy Klassiker Paranormal & Urban Fantasy Saga Zeitgenössische Fantasy

Its pretty different from the movie but at the same time not at all. The energy is the same but the details changed, same writing different font and all. If you like the Characters in the movie, you might now like them in the original, they can be stubborn and vile at times.

The magic is just perfect, just close enough to real witchcraft to make something perk up in my witchy brain and not flashy enough to be a full on fantasy novel, feels subtle at times.

I loved the dynamics between the characters and everyone was so fleshed out and realistic, that it was a true pleasure to read. In my opinion Hoffman captures the essence of womanhood and the devine feminine like no one else. Reading this is truly an experience to be kept close to one's heart.

An expression of Sisterhood like no other

Monotone, boring and not catchy . The story is not interesting, is if mundane and flat

Not an interesting story

pure toxicity. everyone despises everyone except when a man is involved. the movie is so so much better. this was pure rage bate. rather than empowering it made womenhood to victimhood. pathetic.

Internalized Misogyny Porn

This book has virtually nothing to do with the film of the same name. you would need an incredible amount Imagination to find anything good about this novel.

Sorry, but i couldn't find anything interesting about this story , it was boring and disappointing.
