In a not-too-distant future that is not quite ours, there has been a major scientific breakthrough. It is a way to open windows into the past, permitting historical researchers to view, but not participate, in the events of the past.

In one of the most powerful and thought-provoking novels of his remarkable career, Orson Scott Card interweaves a compelling portrait of Christopher Columbus with the story of a future scientist who believes she can alter human history from a tragedy of bloodshed and brutality to a world filled with hope and healing.

I love all the Ender stories, so I've tried another book form Card. And guess what ... I like it even more. A really great story and as usual very well produced.

It's a story about people in history...
Why did Columbus sail over the sea, although he did not know, whether there is another shore in reach? What if mankind would be able to change history?
Would you change the past and forget your future?...this is the question this book tries to answer.
A story about timetravel and the responsibility of science...

Orson Scott Card can do a lot better. Don't just go and buy this book because you liked the Ender's series. You might be disappointed.
