Welcome to the future, where everything's perfect - perfectly automated. Machines take care of it all ... except, of course, ailments of the soul, the worst of which is the stark, unadulterated, and complete sickness called boredom.
Boredom is the thing that an old man - possibly the most stubborn fellow left in the universe - resists. After a figure dubbed the "Messiah" claims the world exists only by mutal agreement and calls for its end, objects start to disappear. At first, the old man thinks he needs new glasses. But when he visits his doctor, he starts to uncover the key to a startling adventure into the unknown and beyond.
This audiobook also includes the science fiction stories "A Can of Vacuum" and "240,000 Miles Straight Up"
