Martin Luther
Martin Luther wrote his small and large catechisms as a teaching tool of Christian doctrine and faith for individuals and families. Today, more than 500 years after Luther first came into prominence by penning the “95 Theses”, his catechisms are still powerful tools for the Christian life.
Listeners will find in this audio a brief but clear summary of God's word on the essentials of the Christian faith, together with practical applications to the Christian life. Pastors and parents will appreciate this book as a way to not only teach the catechism, but also instruct members of the family at home in the basic doctrines of faith.
While the Small Catechism sets the stage and whets the appetite for further spiritual reading, the Large Catechism is the natural progression - and best explanation - of the shorter book. Those desiring to dig deeper in their spiritual knowledge will find a great starting point in the Large Catechism.
Martin Luther's Large and Small Catechism combines two of the Reformer’s most important works into one volume. Lutherans from confirmation age on up will want this standard reference edition in their libraries. The book makes a great gift for pastors and students.
