The Zondervan Biblical and Theological Lectures series provides a unique audio learning experience. Unlike a traditional audiobook's direct narration of a book's text, Luke: Audio Lectures include high quality live-recordings of college-level lectures that cover the important points from each subject as well as relevant material from other sources.
Our culture does not encourage thoughtful reflection on truth. Yet living the gospel in a postmodern culture demands that Christians understand and internalize the truth about God and his plan for the world. The book of Luke, in conjunction with its sequel found in Acts, is about God's plan. Luke explains who Jesus was, what he did, why he came, and what role we have in his plan. Each chapter in Luke's gospel challenges us to respond to God's plan for unity as one people of God. Through Jesus, we come to oneness despite our varied backgrounds.
Luke: Audio Lectures by Darrell L. Bock, together with Bock's accompanying NIV Application Commentary on Luke, brings the meaning of Luke's gospel into the twenty-first century. Bock comments on the text itself and explores issues in Luke's culture and in ours that help us understand the ultimate meaning of each passage.
