The stunning conclusion of a worldwide phenomenon - from the boldly original author of Captive Prince and Prince's Gambit.

His identity now revealed, Damen must face his master, Prince Laurent, as Damianos of Akielos, the man Laurent has sworn to kill. On the brink of a momentous battle, the future of both their countries hangs in the balance. In the south, Kastor's forces are massing. In the north, the Regent's armies are mobilizing for war. Damen's only hope of reclaiming his throne is to fight together with Laurent against their usurpers. Forced into an uneasy alliance, the two princes journey deep into Akielos, where they face their most dangerous opposition yet. But even if the fragile trust they have built survives the revelation of Damen's identity, can it stand against the Regents final, deadly play for the throne?

unglaublich

Just wow… what an amazing plot. Fabulous characters and their growth.
The performance was good, the last chapter sadly felt a bit rushed, though.

Wow…

Finally, the story started and I really enjoyed listening to the third book. The narrator continues to be great. If you're not hooked after book one or even two, I'd still recommend to continue because it ends really good.

good end to the story

perfect final for this trilogy. I love it and will surely read(listen to) it again. all these twists at the end were so surprising but fitting. and reading it for a 2nd time makes you see some things with different eyes. It's my favourite book so far.

Am I the only one who felt like this story was inspired by other iconic works? Felt like the dynamic of the relationship between the main characters here, their looks and pattern of behaviour and also many plot features were inspired by Griffith (Laurent) and Guts (Damen) from just the first (and in my opinion still best) Arc of Berserk, where Griffiths still heads the falcon troupe, blended with Iason's (L) and Riki's (D) relationship dynamic and plot points from Ai no Kusabi (queer main characters. cold blond blue-eyed Master and darker skinned black haired 'babarian' slave with a rebellious and honest to boot nature and slaves are called pets and some more similarities, is scifi though). This series felt like a really enjoyable, elaborate and fleshed out alternative version of what if the first Arc of Berserk had continued as first hoped, with a healthy helping of Iason's and Riki's story and characters (especially in Captive prince). 5 stars, because I genuinely enjoyed the series as a whole, still would like some credit to go to the genre predecessors this work seems to have taken inspiration from.

Felt like a fan fiction of Japanese lightnovel/Manga I know
