Familiar landmarks appear, but the water teems with monstrous, vicious fish. And there appear to be dinosaurs grazing on the plains of Bali. Gradually Matt and his crew must accept the fact that they are in an alternate world---and they are not alone. Humans have not evolved, but two other species have. And they are at war.
With its steam power and weaponry, the Walker's very existence could alter the balance of power. And for Matt and his crew, who have the means to turn a primitive war into a genocidal Armageddon, one thing becomes clear: They must decide whose side they're on. Because whoever they choose to side with is the winner.

Everyone not American needs saving, amongst them are even some other Americans not american enough.
Every Non-American who isn't on the List to be saved, will be destroyed by the Might of the American Navy. Oorah!
While I wrote this excessively poignant it isn't really a Problem, just something you need to be aware of. You need to listen to this book like you'd watch old World War 2 Movies. You already know who is gonna win and it's just about the cool explosions, razor sharp one liners and a hard to impress captain who is later impressed and proud of his troops because they surpassed his expectations. Like he expected.
It was easy to listen to and the Narrator did a fine job. In the end it just wasn't interesting enough to make me get the following volumes.
Like an old war film

I DO like the stlye its written in,
I DO like the story
BUT... The narorrrater is.... you need to get used to him... sometimes he switches the charracter but doesnt even leaves a breath between the switches... so your mind is still on the Destroyers crew while he suddenly starts talking about the "Home" ship... His mic is good, but sadly his voice is VERY monotone... and its fastly gets hard to follow him if you dont pay him 110% attention...
Overall i think the book is worth it, i simple HATE his voice... i want to feel the book! not to doze off because he kept the same boring voice the whole time on the same octave...
dah...
