""I'm Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent. I can't be celibate. Everyone knows that.""

Desperate to escape her scheming relatives, Evangeline Jenner has sought the help of the most infamous scoundrel in London.

A marriage of convenience is the only solution.

No one would have ever paired the shy, stammering wallflower with the sinfully handsome viscount. It quickly becomes clear, however, that Evie is a woman of hidden strength—and Sebastian desires her more than any woman he's ever known.

Determined to win her husband's elusive heart, Evie dares to strike a bargain with the devil: If Sebastian can stay celibate for three months, she will allow him into her bed.

When Evie is threatened by a vengeful enemy from the past, Sebastian vows to do whatever it takes to protect his wife . . . even at the expense of his own life.

Together they will defy their perilous fate, for the sake of all-consuming love.

My favorite part of the wallflower series! I loved the book which I read several times, and the narration didn’t disappoint me either! Lovely narrator - what a great listen/read!

My favorite wallflower

This will forever be one of my favourite historical romances.
Wallflower Evie Jenner, daughter of a gaming club owner, is in a difficult situation. Her relatives from her mothers family won‘t let her visit her dying father, and moreover want to marry her to her cousin so that they can keep her dowry - and so she runs away. She goes to Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent, who is in desperate need of finances (read the previous book!) and convinces him to elope with her.
Evies goal is to have her husbands name and protection, Sebastians is to receive her dowry. But along the way they might discover that they are better suited than they thought.

Gute Story

While Evie is my favorite of the Wallflowers and I kind of suspected that she would end of with St. Vincent, the transformation of these so very different characters and them falling in love happened a bit too quickly for my taste. I can follow why Evie fell in love him, but not really why St. Vincent fell in love with her...the story seems to be more focused on her feelings than on his. And it also didn't help that in the middle of the series, the audio is not performed by my beloved Rosalyn Landor, but by Mary Jane Wells. I thought that she did a perfect performance for Evie but St. Vincent sounded smokey, and raspy and as if he was chocking on something the whole time...men in general don't seem to be her strength.

Not as good as the others

Geschichte top, sehr gut gesprochen
