At the end of a long, dark night Detectives Renée Ballard and Harry Bosch cross paths for the very first time.

Detective Renée Ballard is working the graveyard shift again and returns to Hollywood Station in the early hours only to find that an older man has snuck in and is rifling through old file cabinets. The intruder is none other than legendary LAPD detective Harry Bosch, working a cold case that has gotten under his skin.

Ballard kicks him out, but eventually Bosch persuades her to help, and she relents. Bosch is investigating the death of 15-year-old Daisy Clayton, a runaway who was brutally murdered. He crossed paths with her devastated mother while working a previous case, and Daisy's story has seized hold of him.

WHY must she imitate a low male voice every time she reads a male part??? this gave me goose bumbs (but not in a positive way!) throughout the book.
Imagine Titus Welliver would always switch to a high pitched voice when he reads a female part!?! -> But (thank god!) he is not doing it; and thats the way a reader (male or female) should read the Charakters -> with her own voice (maybe slight nuances but still the own voice and definetily NOT imitate the opposite gender -> this simply sounds awful and ridiculous).

An OK Bosch Novel, but the female reader got on...

Half of the book is well written and intriguing as usual but there are passages that are not so well written and have weaknesses in the story itself.

Für mich die langweiligste Geschichte rund um Harry Bosch. Ballard finde ich aber einen guten neuen Charakter.
