The Moon has dropped her lantern and now nobody can fall asleep! Seven-year-old June is good at lots of things: skipping, finding four-leaf clovers, making up songs about her socks. But there's one thing she just can't do. June can't fall asleep. Her dad tells her that every night the Moon carries a magical lantern whose light sings the softest lullaby in the world. June thinks it's just a story, until the night the Moon gives an enormous yawn and the Lullaby Lantern tumbles from the sky right into her garden. Dogs start barking. Babies start crying. Even the owls are too wide awake! The lantern's song has lost its five magical notes, and without them nobody in the village of Hushwillow can sleep. So June, in her dressing gown and wellies, sets off into the night with Lumi the talking lantern and Oona, a very fizzy little owl. Together they follow the notes hidden in a cricket's chirp, a babbling brook, a whispering willow and a sleepy cat's purr, until June discovers that the very last note was hidden somewhere nobody thought to look Perfect for children aged 48, Lullaby Lantern is: A gentle, cosy bedtime story that helps little ones wind down Told in 8 short chapters, ideal for reading aloud one chapter a night A heartwarming tale about calm, kindness, friendship and the love of family Ends with an original lullaby to read or sing together at lights-out Especially lovely for children who find it hard to fall asleep Snuggle up, dim the lights and let the Lullaby Lantern sing your child to sleep.
