George Orwell's timeless and timely allegorical novel - a scathing satire on a downtrodden society's blind march towards totalitarianism. The book tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Ultimately, however, the rebellion is betrayed, and the farm ends up in a state as bad as it was before, under the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon. Today it is devastatingly clear that wherever and whenever freedom is attacked, under whatever banner, the cutting clarity and savage comedy of George Orwell's masterpiece have a meaning and message still ferociously fresh.

The story itself is interesting. The audio editing is lacking, though, as some parts are read twice and some errors were not edited out.

Teilweise doppelte Passagen und Versprecher - hätte eigentlich beim Edit bemerkt werden können bzw. sollen. Ansonsten ein sehr schönes Hörbuch

Great story and well read. However, there are a few editing mistakes in the audio. For example at one time two audio traces are overlapping and in another instance, a passage is being read again (it should have been cut out).

Though the awkward performance by the narrator was throwing me off initially. Once I got used to impersonations, I couldn’t resist the amazing storyline and a masterful allusion of Orwell.

A beautiful retrospective at communism

Der Sprecher hat sich oft versprochen und die Sätze wiederholt. Daher gebe ich nur 3 Sterne.
