Award-winning regency romance author on the rise

I like the narrator but the story is not really interesting. It could have had more drama, it is very slow paced, The author probably tried to make the male MC similar to Mr. Darcy solving problems for the female MC. It feels forced and our female MC is just not capable of anything by herself really, which is a pity. If they had any real conversation beyond „I can‘t/ you shouldn’t „ and just running away the book would be quite shorter and we wouldn’t loose anything in the process. The first half of the book was more interesting then the second.
I was only listening to it since it is my audio membership.
