The Circuit: Books 1-2 Inhaltsangabe

The Circuit control everything…even memories. But some memories are more dangerous than others.

Jake Montana waits anxiously for the letter every 18-year-old receives on Ascension Eve. It’s the one from the Circuit. It’s the one that’ll determine the rest of his life. His partner, his job, his home, and, crucially, his relative importance to the world.

In the year 2054, your "importance factor" isn't random. It’s based on a detailed assessment of every thought, emotion, and recollection you’ve ever stored in your Memory Cloud since the first day the implants were fitted. Your fate, the Circuit insists, is always yours.

But the future Jake wants won’t happen. It can’t. Christie, his childhood sweetheart, won’t reach Ascension Eve for months, so it’s impossible her name will appear in his letter. He’s right, but there are bigger surprises in store for him.

The Memory Cloud has chosen him life that no one would want. A life which will lead to the murky world of the Spectrum, a community who denounce the Circuit and refuse to comply to their rules. A life designed to keep Jake from Christie at all costs. A life designed to hide the truth which lives deep inside his Memory Cloud forever.

A truth that the Circuit will stop at nothing to keep from the world.

The Circuit: Books 1-2, includes Memory Clouds and Memory Hunters in one book set for the first time. If you liked 1984, A Brave New World, or The Hunger Games, then this is a must-listen. With the rise of AI, this book may well be a prophecy of what is not far away in the future for all of us. Grab hold of this "clever, intelligent and oh so twisted" thriller today!
